Tica Wins August G/90

NM Juan Tica won the August G/90 with 3.5/4.

Expert Mauricio Camejo was 2nd. Serge Adelson and David Zhurbinsky split the U1950 prize. Ron Lukacs and Ken Cohen split the U 1550 prize.

Privman, Grasso, Crump Win Sunday G/30

FM Boris Privman, NM David Grasso & Alexander Crump won the G/30 tourney held on August 25.

Crump surpassed 2200 in the event.

Zilbermintz Wins Saturday Swiss

Lev Zilbermintz won the G/45 Swiss held on August 24.

Alex Schwartzberg was 2nd. Ken Cohen won the U1750 prize.

Privman & A. Dong Saturday Quads Winners

FM Boris Privman & Expert Alice Dong were section winners in our Saturday G/45 Quads.

There were 13 players in all. The bottom section was run as an Octo to avoid putting family members in the same groups.

Mauricio Camejo leads the August G/90 at its halfway point. 4 players, including the late-joining Juan Tica (who recently surpassed 2200), are tied for 2nd.

Camejo, Desai, Pell & Mulvaney G/30 Winners

Mauricio Camejo, Rohit Desai were clear section winners in our Sunday G/30 Quads. Matt Pell & Chris Mulvaney shared 1st place in section #3.

Privman Wins Dr. Machan Open #25

FM Boris Privman won Saturday's Dr. Luzviminda Machan Open.

LM James West was 2nd. Aaron Jacobson was 3rd.

Mauricio Camejo, Kevin Dresher, Brandon Jacobson, Alex Schwartzberg and David Zhurbinsky split the U2200 prize.

Schwartzberg also notched the biggest upset, with an opening round win over Camejo.

August G/90 - Round 1

Lev Zilbermintz (2162), Mauricio Camejo (2062), Roger Pedersen (1900) and Michael O'Connor (1699) lead the August G/90 after 1 round of play.

Late-joins will be accepted until the start of round 3 on August 21.
