Arthur Shen Wins G/45
FM Arthur Shen won the Sunday G/45 with a 4.0/5 score. IM Ilye Figler and Expert Rahul Swaminathan tied for 2nd & 3rd. Eve Zhurbinskiy and Serge Adelson shared the U2200 and U2000 prizes.
The event was small (just 9 players) but certainly wasn't lacking in quality. In fact it was so strong (2204.22 average!!!) IM Justin Sarker managed just an even score while FM Victor Shen (Arthur's older brother & NJ Knockouts teammate), who won the U2400 section at last month's World Open, received a full point bye in round 4!

Revised Cell Phone Rule
Chess Mates has revised its Cell Phone Rule. It now will reads as follows:
Use of a cell phone is prohibited in Chess Mates tournament room. If your cell phone rings in the tournament room during play you will be issued a warning. A second offense in the same tournament will cost a player half of his/her remaining time. If a 3rd offense is committed, the player will forfeit his/her game.

GM Rohde Wins Sunday Swiss
Grandmaster Michael Rohde won today's G/45 Swiss. Experts Sameer Mujumdar and Kavinayan Sivakumar tied for 2nd place.
