NM Praveen Balakrishnan & NM Sameer Mujumdar lead the Open Section of Chess Mates Super Swiss #1 with 2 rounds to go. Round 3 is in progress and currently has some 60 minutes remaining.
20 players are playing the 2-day schedule and another 13 are expected tomorrow for the 1-day schedule, which begins at 11:30 a.m. The 2 schedules will merge in round 4, which is slated for 3:15 p.m.
The prize fund, advertised as $4000 & 60% guaranteed will likely end-up being 70-75% guaranteed.
We had hoped to do live reporting earlier today but our blogger was
used as a filler in the opening round & we later had internet
connectivity problems.
